Waikato Kindergarten Association Trust Board

Waikato Kindergarten Association is a Charitable Trust that re-opened formally in 1946. Our Head Office is located in Puutikitiki Street, Hamilton East with kindergartens, centres and homebased services in Hamilton, Cambridge, Ngaruawahia, Raglan, Te Kowhai and Morrinsville.

The purpose of the Trust is to:

  • provide and promote education in any of its forms for the benefit of preschool children
  • establish early childhood services in and around the Waikato district.

The Waikato Kindergarten Association (WKA) Trust Board makes strategic decisions which affect the future of our kindergartens, education and care centres and home-based networks. The Board is guided by a strategic plan focused on 'Our children are strong in heart, head and hand — Aa taatou tamariki - he maaia, he manawanui, he pukumahi' within our quality early-learning environments.

Our history

Kindergartens Waikato and Early Education Waikato have been part of the community for the best part of a century!

Waikato Kindergarten Association was formally instituted in 1946, with Early Education Waikato being formed in 2005 to operate early education centres and, later, homebased education for the organisation. Between them, that's more than 100 years of service to Hamilton and surrounding communities!

Over the years more kindergartens have been added to our stable and, since 2005, early education centres too. Homebased education joined our service offerings in 2015 as the organisation has continued to grow.

We look to establish new centres in key growth areas, as Hamilton and its surrounding satellite towns continue to expand, offering the best preschool education to young kiwis.
