Why work with us

As an employee of Kindergartens Waikato you will be part of a large professional team continually striving to provide the very best educational environment for children and their families/whanau.

Administrative & Management Support

Each Kindergarten is under the umbrella of Kindergartens Waikato, a head office which employs managers and administration staff to provide support with the many tasks involved in running a Kindergarten. These tasks include;

  • Employment of staff - permanent and relieving
  • Payment of salaries and wages
  • Accessing and managing Ministry of Education Funding
  • Payment of accounts and financial reporting
  • Development of policies and procedures
  • Professional support and guidance
  • Property development
  • Compliance and Health and Safety

Professional Development

Kindergartens Waikato encourages staff to maintain their expertise and professionalism in an ever changing environment by providing a free comprehensive professional development program of courses and workshops throughout the year.

Communication and consultation contributes to the successful operation of any organization. Therefore formal and informal meetings with staff and management are held throughout the year to encourage networking and discuss topics of interest.

Registration Advice and Guidance

All teachers must either hold a certificate of full registration or be working towards registration. Kindergartens Waikato provides a formal registration process to support all permanent teaching staff undergoing Teacher Registration.

We have an established process which includes ongoing individual support and guidance, regular meetings and professional development.

Professional Support

Kindergartens Waikato employs three Educational Services Managers to provide support and oversee the effective operations of the Kindergartens. They regularly visit Kindergartens to provide practical, professional support to individuals and teams to enhance teaching practice.

Employment Agreement

All teaching staff employed by Kindergartens Waikato are covered by the pay and conditions as stated in the National Collective Employment Agreement for Kindergarten Teachers.
